What an outstanding few days we experienced at the IPG Annual General Meeting in Shanghai, graciously hosted by NEW ISLAND PRINTING GROUP CO., LTD.
Founded in 1964, New Island has grown from a family-run printing business into a leading provider of integrated print and packaging solutions. With its headquarters in Hong Kong and production facilities in Dongguan and Shanghai, the company offers a comprehensive range of services, from design, sourcing and procurement to printing, post-press processing, and delivery. Their commitment to industry best practices, exceptional quality standards, and continuous improvement is reflected in the numerous internationally recognized certifications they have achieved.
The AGM provided an excellent platform for members to share company updates, discuss market developments, and exchange ideas on the opportunities and challenges shaping our industry. We also welcomed updates from our Associate Members, providing valuable insights into the latest industry trends and innovations.
A particular highlight of the event was the visit to New Island's Shanghai production facility. Attendees were highly impressed by the exceptional cleanliness, organization, and efficiency of the operation. The state-of-the-art machinery, disciplined workflows, and attention to detail demonstrated the company's dedication to quality and operational excellence.
In addition to the business sessions, members enjoyed a rich cultural program that showcased the vibrant spirit of Shanghai and provided valuable networking opportunities in a more informal setting.
We were also privileged to welcome Zikai Wang, Chief Technologist and Deputy Dean at the Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, who delivered a thought-provoking presentation titled:
"From Digital Speed to Physical Efficiency: Opportunities in the Age of Physical AI"
His insights into the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on manufacturing and industrial operations sparked engaging discussions about the future of our industry and the opportunities ahead.
A sincere thank you to the entire New Island team for their exceptional hospitality and flawless organization. The AGM was a tremendous success and a reminder of the value of collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing across the global IPG network.
We now look forward to continuing this momentum at the next IPG Annual General Meeting, which will be hosted by Furubayashi Shiko in Tokyo, Japan.
