IPG Meets in Denmark

The International Packaging Group had its most recent annual general meeting in Horsens, Denmark from September 8th to 12th. The yearly IPG meeting was hosted by Hans Schur of Schur Packaging, where the members witness first-hand the unique innovations that have helped the Danish company grow.

Schur is an international team of 12 companies. They are offering packaging, packaging machines, packaging systems, and knowhow. Schur has a staff of approx. 850 persons employed at factories in Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Australia, and the USA. In Schur innovation and tradition goes hand in hand. For almost 175 years the Schur family has been at the head of the company and the sixth generation is now part of the management. the company is one of Denmark's oldest, and probably the oldest packaging business in the world run on family lines.

The 53 participants appreciated the presentations from the invited guest speakers on ‘’Plastic change’’ by Henrik Beha Pedersen, ‘’Family business succession planning’’ by Ida Helena Gert Jensen and ‘’Towards a renewable future’’ by Öystein Aksnes.

The highlights of the meeting were the visit to Schur pack Germany GmbH, Europe’s most modern and efficient Folding Box Plant with a total of 28.000 m2 including a fully automatic high-rack storage in the ‘’business Park 24’’ Valluhn-Gallin. Schur pack Denmark and specifically Schur technology in Horsens, These plants are very impressive and reflect true vision of a world-class manufacturing facility. Well organized and highly efficient. It is a true example of what manufacturer excellence is all about and it is a dream plant for customers and employees with such leadership and vision. This recognition, coming from such a distinguished group of leading companies in the folding industry.

The next Annual General Meeting is scheduled to take place in Toronto, Canada from September 20th to 24th and is hosted by Jones.
